Jimmy Walker, CPA

Jimmy Walker has more than 17 years accounting experience.

Upon graduation from Baylor in 1990, Walker went to work for the forensic accounting firm Matson Driscoll and Damico. During his 3 years with that firm he traveled to Kuwait to participate in the preparation of claims for loss, incurred due to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, which was presented to the United Nations on behalf of Kuwait. He also participated in monitoring the clean up of the World Trade Center after the bombing in 1993.

Walker earned a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1995. Following that, he went to work for Dallas CPA firm Wallace Sanders & Co. which was later acquired by RSM McGladrey.

After three years with Wallace Sanders, Walker joined  Ernst & Young and worked in the Real Estate Group and Entrepreneurial Services Group. Walker worked on large real estate accounts as well as preparing and reviewing FAS 109 footnotes for financial statements.

Walker went to work for KPMG in 2000, handling accounts for large publicly-traded companies as well as small privately-held companies. He rose to the level of Senior Manager with KPMG and served clients in many industries but developed an expertise in FAS 109 and real estate. He reviewed the FAS 109 calculations for several of the most prominent businesses in Dallas. Walker worked in KPMG’s real estate group from 2002 until he opened his own firm in 2005.
