Jimmy Walker, CPA
Jimmy Walker
has more than 17 years accounting experience.
Upon graduation from Baylor
in 1990, Walker went to work for the forensic
accounting firm Matson Driscoll and Damico.
During his 3 years with that firm he traveled to
Kuwait to participate in the preparation of
claims for loss, incurred due to the Iraqi
invasion of Kuwait, which was presented to the
United Nations on behalf of Kuwait. He also
participated in monitoring the clean up of the
World Trade Center after the bombing in 1993.
Walker earned a Master of
Science in Taxation from the University of Texas
at Arlington in 1995. Following that, he went to
work for Dallas CPA firm Wallace Sanders & Co.
which was later acquired by RSM McGladrey.
After three years with Wallace Sanders, Walker joined Ernst & Young
and worked in the Real Estate Group and
Entrepreneurial Services Group. Walker worked on
large real estate accounts as well as preparing
and reviewing FAS 109 footnotes for financial
statements.
Walker went to work for KPMG in 2000, handling
accounts for large publicly-traded companies as
well as small privately-held companies. He rose
to the level of Senior Manager with KPMG and
served clients in many industries but developed an
expertise in FAS 109 and real estate. He
reviewed the FAS 109 calculations for several of
the most prominent businesses in Dallas. Walker
worked in KPMG’s
real estate group from 2002 until he opened his
own firm in 2005.
